1. Eat about 6 small complete meals throughout the day (fish, almonds, walnuts, and lean proteins in general, plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, and complex multigrain carbohydrates) spaced out about every 2-3 hours. Consume between 1500-2500 calories a day. 2. Do NOT starve yourself, do NOT binge eat. 3. Be as active as you can; nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knock out 10 push-ups. 4. Eat some spicy foods; take a decent amount of vitamin C, and drink between a half-gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day. Avoid anything deep-fried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar. 5. No more soda. Ever. 6. If you do drink coffee, drink it black. 7. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle. 8. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Jumping Jacks, Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, back raises, glute ham raises, burpees) 9. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more then 9. 10. Here is the most important part: STICK TO IT! You can feel free to email me with any questions or comments. |

Stay far away from fast food , junk food and red meat . No meat is even better .Make your own meals. only use frozen or canned when there's no time to cook . (frozen is better then canned ) |

Just exercise daily and only eat what you need. Eliminate snacking as much as you can and keep away from any food related guilty pleasures. Oh yeah and ALWAYS stretch before exercising and drink lots of water, and if you haven't already invest in a really good weight scale. |

You answered you question...eat healthy foods and exercise..for me to start the process i bought mountain bikes and cycled a lot..even if i didnt go cycling just using the bike to go shopping or go to work added up to about 70 miles Healthy foods - Broccoli, cauliflour, spinach, carrots, peppers, potatoes, chillies beans (all differnet types but not things like baked beans in tomato sauce) nut (especially almonds Fish (all types especially tuna, salmon, sardines etc) Whole grain rice Whole grain pasta Porridge oats Fruits (all types, especially apples) You should limit fruit juices, especially if they are from concentrate as they are a killer for people that think fruit juice is healthy when they want to lose weight |

The first thing I would say is you have to be completely dedicated. You have to have "that moment ". I call it that because anyone who has lost significant weight and kept it off has had one. Whether it's a picture of yourself that disgusts you, someone making a comment, or simply getting on the scale and seeing a number you thought you never would, "that moment " is when you realize you MUST change. You WILL change. There are usually tears involved. If you havent had that moment, you arent ready. The second thing is to be really hard on yourself in the beginning. I dont mean starve yourself, I mean stay miles and miles from any foods you know you cant resist. For example, I love chocolate. I mean chocolate is nearly the center of my world (or atleast it was....apologies to my hubby) and when I started, I didnt have chocolate for over 2 months. Now I keep chocolate bars in my fridge. I believe there are 7 in there right now. I dont remember when I last had one... I only have one a week, or less. The point is, if I had kept them in there at the beginning, I wouldnt have lost weight. And I still cant keep oreos in the house. The third (and probably most important) thing is to keep a weightloss diary. Buy a notebook just for the purpose of this. Every day, measure/ weigh everything you eat/ drink and write it down. It's annoying at first, but it works. You pay attention to what you are eating (serving sizes are usually a lot smaller than we think!) and you wont want to eat anything bad because you'll feel guilty when you write it down. You can also write down how you feel about your body and your efforts and I keep a weight chart in mine. Remember, a calorie is a calorie. Dont believe any of this bullsh*t about cutting carbs or low fat or whatever. Just cut calories. Dont deny yourself everything you love because if you do, you wont stick to it. Make room for things you like in your daily calorie allowance. Dont stress too much. Enjoy watching your body change! Good luck! |

In my experience, eating healthy and doing a regular work out are the most effective and safest way to lose your weight and keep it off. The key is changing the way you eat, learning balanced nutrition and putting it into practice every single day of your life, not just for a limited period of time: losing weight is a natural consequence of your healthier eating style. Till last year I had very unhealthy eating habits that made me gain quite a lot of pounds Then, a couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to make a change and I went on a diet. I chose a mediterranean plan because I had read that it's a pretty healthy and balanced way to lose weight and, actually, I'm quite happy with it! I lost 8 pounds so far just by eating more whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, fish and olive oil and by reducing my intake of meat and dairy. Here are some suggestions based on my diet you may find helpful: subdivide your daily food intake into 5 small sittings, so you won't get really hungry between meals and will not have the temptation of eating snacks all day; whenever you crave a candy, eat fruits and veggies instead (I always keep some raw vegetables in the fridge, just to have something healthy to crunch when I feel like snacking!); at least 3-4 times a week eat “all-in-one-meals” like pasta with vegetables (zucchini, artichokes) or pasta with legumes (beans, peas, lentils), they are quite nourishing, so you'll feel satiated as you would be after a three-course meal but with a lower intake of calories; prefer white meats because they are less fatty than red meats. And, of course, try to avoid junk food and precooked foods: home made meals help you better control what you're eating and are much healthier than those ready-cooked foods you find in the stores. If you wish to take a look at my plan you can find it easily on the web by googling Italiandiet.com, it's a personalized diet based on your weight, lifestyle and weight loss goal and provided by a team of italian nutritionists, so it's pretty safe. You get it by email, that's quite convenient as well. Maybe you could sign up and get a sample eating plan in order to better understand what are your nutritional needs and what kind of meals are the most suitable for your weight loss goal. Also, try to pair healthy eating with some regular work out: in my experience, swimming is a pretty good one both to burn calories and tone your body but I guess any sport is ok so far as you exercise regularly! Well, these are my secrets! :-) Add a good dose of perseverance and hard work, be positive and strong willed and I'm sure you'll manage to get back in shape! I wish you all the best! |
