Yes it is effective if you believe. I'd try it and indeed it is effective for minor ailments. A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, crèmes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body. Reflexology is recommended as a complementary therapy and should not replace medical treatment |

It cannot support its claims of being able to diagnose or cure disease. There is no plausible mechanism for reflexology to work as claimed, and no good scientific data to support these claims. It contradicts other alternative therapies that invoke 'zones', 'meridians', 'chakras', etc. Pretty much a nice foot massage that takes advantage of the placebo effect. skepdic.com/ reflex.html |

Reflexology is a nice massage for aching feet. It is not a medical treatment and cannot cure or treat disease. Belief in reflexology for that purpose is pretty insane. |
